18 years building businesses. Now helping you sell yours

Meet Neil Burtt · Founder · Concord, NH
"I've watched many New England business owners walk away from significant value — not because their business wasn't worth it, but because no one helped them prepare for the exit."
I'm Neil Burtt. I've spent my career selling things that are hard to sell — first technical equipment, then New England businesses' own products and services online. Since 2008 I've run Sprout for Business in Concord, helping hundreds of businesses with their websites, brand presence and search visibility. Over that time I've watched owners build something great — and too many close or sell for less than it was worth because no one helped them get ready. You Promote exists to change that.
My background
A career spent putting the right product in front of the right buyer
I started in customer service and applications, traveling across the semiconductor industry. I worked with international companies to integrate machines into larger systems, and built partnerships with other companies to sell our products as part of their solutions. For 25 years I worked the APEX show in San Diego.
From there I moved into inside sales for a large machine manufacturer, then sold semiconductor equipment for a Swiss manufacturer. That's where I learned how a serious buyer thinks: what they need to see, what makes them nervous, and what makes them say yes.
In 2008 I built Sprout for Business. Since then I've helped hundreds of New England businesses with their websites, brand presence and SEO — and watched many of them change hands.
Why it matters when you sell
- I know how buyers think. Decades of selling complex products to careful, technical buyers.
- I know how to partner. Years of working with other companies to reach buyers I couldn't reach alone.
- I can make your business look its best first. As an owner of Sprout for Business, I can strengthen your website, reviews and search visibility before you go to market — something most brokers who just list a business can't do.
Why a marketer?
Buyers pay for what they can see. My whole career has been about making good businesses visible — to customers, and now to buyers. I help you get your business ready, present it well and promote it to the right people.
I represent you, the seller. A closing attorney handles the legal side of closing, and your own accountant stays involved. And if your business is a better fit for another professional, I'll introduce you, at no extra cost to you.
